Blackberry Turnaround by revenue rise
After struggling for more than two years the smartphone maker showed a hefty increase in its revenue of 12% for the quarter to November, the revenue is $548 million.
Factor that enhances revenue:
The progress appears to be clearly reflected from the recent launch of its First Android Smartphone namely - BlackBerry Priv that will run on Android Marshmallow rather than the Blackberry's own operating system.
Impact over company's value and possible implications over its rivals :
The company already sold 700,000 devices in the third quarter, down 100,000 from the previous quarter, but average selling prices rose from $240 to $315.
The company is valued at just $4.1 billion. In comparison Apple is worth more than $600 billion. Though Apple has been far more successful as compared to its apparent rival BlackBerry, but the recent switch over of BlackBerry to the successful platform Android might result in future impact over Apple's sales which comprises a good number of BlackBerry's dissatisfied consumers.
Apart from the possible implications over the future sales of Apple it may also bring some negative consequences over existing rivals with Curved LED smartphones and there is currently only one successful Curved LED smartphone manufacturer that is Samsung. BlackBerry Priv, accordingly, provides another choice of smartphone with a Curved LED and an optional keypad that is value adding.
Apart from competitions with two giants, the BlackBerry is successful in rekindling the interests of its consumers and potential models with the same platform may bring further positive reforms in the company's sales and its market share.
